Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) includes all previously released updates for the operating system. This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers' experience with the operating system. Microsoft advises customers running Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) to install a hotfix for a Microsoft Dynamics RMS issue prior to installing Windows XP SP3. This update is for Network Installation for IT Professionals. Microsoft advises not to use this download for a single computer (though it can be used for one). A more appropriate download is available via Windows Update. Warning: If you have Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 installed you should uninstall them prior to installing this service pack (they can be reinstalled later). If you install this service pack without uninstalling IE7 or IE8 then you will not be able to uninstall IE7 or 8 after installing the service pack. This is due to the fact that XP(SP3) contains a slightly different version of IE6. If you install XP(SP3) on your system without removing IE 7 or 8 they will remain on your system and your settings will be retained but you will be unable to revert to IE6 without causing serious problems later. This is especially true for IE8 Beta users. More info-Microsoft Corporation
