Active@ Hard Disk Monitor is a freeware disk utility that monitors the status of your hard drives to help prevent data loss. It is based on the Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology. This utility monitors HDD SMART parameters like Temperature, Head Flying Height and Spin-Up Time to notify a user if critical conditions occur. Disk Monitor also displays hard disk drive geometry, time of usage and the overall status of the disk’s health. More info-LSoft Technologies Inc.

Active SMART is an industry leading S.M.A.R.T. diagnostic and failure prediction software for hard drives. It uses S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) to monitor the health status of Hard Disk Drives, monitors the drives temperature, prevents data loss and predicts possible drive fails, using special algorithms. Active SMART has several monitoring modes and is intended for both personal and extensive computer systems use. Various local and remote monitoring modes and alerting options are available. Active SMART allows every hard drive in the system to be monitored 24 hours a day for faults, overheating or other hazardous factors that may lead to a crash. In case of error detection, there is a range of alerting options available: local (pop up messages, sound) and remote (e-mail or network messenger). No special technical skills are required in order to use Active SMART. New in this release:

  • Windows Vista compatible.
  • Application structure rewritten, now it's completely service based.
  • Added SSL authentication for the Email notifications.
  • Fixed bug with custom notifications.
  • Fixed some minor bugs.

  • Name: Advanced SmartCheck 4.0
  • File Size: 3.69MB
  • Date: 24 May 2008
  • License: Shareware
  • Price: $29.95

Advanced SmartCheck 3.3 uses S.M.A.R.T. technology to monitor all networked PC's hard drives internal S.M.A.R.T. attributes, predict possible drive failure and prevent data loss. Using predictions settings, Advanced SmartCheck lets you know about a potential disk health problem before you lose valuable data. With Advanced SmartCheck, the Network Administrator will have the most recent information about the health of all hard drives on all of the computers installed across the network. Prediction of the nearest T.E.C. of any hard drive can prevent valuable data loss by replacing dangerous drives and backing up all data. For example, motor and/or bearing failure can be predicted by an increase in the drive spin-up time and the number of retries it takes to succeed in spinning up the drive. Or, if the drive notes that the error correction is being used excessively, it can attribute this to a broken drive head or contamination, and alert you before the problem gets worse. Armed with a failure prediction, the user or system manager can back up key data, replace a suspect device prior to data loss, or avoid undesired downtime. S.M.A.R.T. monitors the disks performance, bad sectors, calibration, CRC errors, disk spin up time, distance between the head and the disk, temperature, features of medium, heads, motor or servo-mechanism. In all, over 30 attributes are covered by S.M.A.R.T. The errors that the system can detect can be predicted by a number of methods. Currently the SMART system can detect around 70% of all hard drive errors. Advanced SmartCheck Tray client shows the icon with the temperature value of the most hot hard drive in the system tray. You can point this icon by the mouse and ASC Tray client will show a hint with temperatures of all hard drives. Advanced SmartCheck Tray client notifies you when the temperature of the hard drive exceeds the threshold by the balloon hint Event Log or WinPopup. Tray client settings can be changed by Administrator. More info-URL Toy software

Drive Health is a Windows program that helps you to estimate your hard disks Life Resource. This tool allows you to predict possible HDD failure and prevent losing the critical data. To estimate hard disk life our program uses special S.M.A.R.T. technology that is supported by the most of hard disk manufacturers. By implementing this technology the Drive Health provides access to the hard disk drives reliability monitoring, and keeps you informed about any potentially dangerous degradations of performance or reliability of your HDDs. The monitoring program eats minimum CPU and memory resources and can be run as a NT service. More info-Helexis Software Development
